CevLab obtains UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation

Laboratorio CevLab

CevLab has reached an important milestone: it is now officially accredited by ACCREDIA in compliance with the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, under accreditation number 2107L. The certificate is available on the ACCREDIA website, where the complete list of accredited tests can also be consulted.

What does UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation mean?

The UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard is an international standard that defines the managerial and technical requirements necessary to ensure a laboratory’s technical competence and its ability to provide reliable and valid test results.

ACCREDIA is the national body appointed by the Italian government to carry out periodic audits on laboratories, with the aim of issuing the certificate of compliance with the standard.

Accreditation represents an official recognition of the laboratory’s technical competence and ensures that its test results are reliable, impartial, and internationally recognized. It also guarantees that the laboratory operates consistently and in accordance with the scope of accreditation listed in the Test List.

Which tests have been accredited?

The accredited tests focus on verifying the resistance of industrial, aerospace, automotive, and electronic components to various types of vibrations, ensuring their integrity and functionality even under stress.

Here are the accredited tests:

Test Name Test Method
Environmental Tests – Test Fc: Sinusoidal Vibrations CEI EN 60068-2-6:2009 / EN 60068-2-6:2008
Environmental Tests – Test Fh: Random Wideband Vibration and Guide CEI EN 60068-2-64:2012/A1:2020 / EN 60068-2-64:2008/A1:2019

The objective of these tests is to detect any mechanical weaknesses or performance degradation in the samples, allowing for an assessment of their acceptability. Additionally, they demonstrate the resistance and dynamic behavior of a component, ensuring there are no structural or functional failures under vibration conditions.

Why are vibration resistance tests important?

Subjecting a component to vibration tests is essential to assess its quality, reliability, and safety during use. These tests reduce the risk of failures, ensuring that products meet the required safety and performance standards in critical sectors such as industrial, aerospace, and automotive.
